A Hull City spokesman has confirmed that they have not received an approach from Aston Villa regarding the availability of their manager Steve Bruce.
Villa are searching for a new boss after they parted company with Remi Garde on Tuesday evening just four months after they appointed him.
It has been reported that the board are keen to hire a British manager and Bruce was rumoured to be on the list.
However, a spokesman for Hull has told BBC Sport that "no approach had been made nor would one be welcome".
Nigel Pearson, David Moyes and current Burnley manager Sean Dyche have been linked to the job.
