Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady has heaped praise on manager Steve Bruce by describing him as his "spiritual father".
Bruce brought the Egyptian to England with Sunderland in 2010 before signing him again for the Tigers last year.
Elmohamady has now thanked the 53-year-old for the positive impact that he has had on his career.
"Steve Bruce is a great coach and I consider him to be my spiritual father," the 26-year-old told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He brought me from ENPPI in Egypt to Sunderland and then I joined him at Hull. He means a lot to me and I credit him for what I have achieved. He believed in me and that gave me confidence."
Elmohamady scored two goals in 45 appearances for Hull last season.
