Sam Allardyce wary of 'confident' Hull City

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says that Steve Bruce has knitted Hull City's new-look team together nicely.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes that Hull City will be full of confidence following last week's 3-2 victory over Newcastle United.

The Hammers travel to the KC Stadium this afternoon having lost at home to Everton by the same scoreline.

Allardyce praised his opposite number Steve Bruce for the start that Hull have made upon their return to the Premier League, especially having made sweeping changes to his squad.

"We face them at a time when their confidence is sky-high so as always we'll have a tough game on our hands," the 58-year-old told reporters.

"[Bruce's] players, irrespective of how many he's changed, have gelled well which was the opposite to his time at Sunderland. It's worked for him very, very well in a short period of time and they've obviously started the season exceptionally well.

"For them to get their first away win was a huge result, it lifts the whole city, the backroom staff and all the players."

The Tigers brought in 10 new players during the summer transfer window, as well as securing a permanent deal for Ahmed Elmohamady, who helped the club achieve promotion from the Championship last season.
