Hull City are leading West Ham United after 45 minutes thanks to Robbie Brady's goal.
Hull opened the scoring from the penalty spot as Brady was brought down inside the area. The same player then picked himself up and slotted the spot kick into the corner.
West Ham responded well and Modibo Maiga had a chance to level after being put through on goal by Matt Jarvis, but the striker's effort was saved.
The Hammers came even closer just after, however. Jarvis sent in a corner and James Tomkins headed towards goal, only for Liam Rosenior to clear it off the line.
Goalscorer Brady had a shot deflected over and Kevin Nolan fired just wide for the away side, but Hull were inches away from taking a 2-0 lead when Maiga diverted the ball onto his own crossbar.
Immediately after Ahmed Elmohamady had his goal-bound effort pushed away by Jussi Jaaskelainen.
