Hull City defender Alex Bruce has revealed that he and his teammates were left "devastated" by Saturday's defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
The Tigers scored twice inside the opening eight minutes at Wembley Stadium, but Arsenal fought back to clinch a 3-2 win after extra time.
"It's left me feeling numb," Bruce told the club's official website. "Everybody was devastated in the changing room afterwards. I'm sure in a couple of days we'll reflect on it and realise we gave them a good game.
"We probably went 2-0 up too early to be honest. They got the goal back and the momentum swung and unfortunately we couldn't hold out."
Despite letting the match slip from their grasp, Bruce hopes that he and his teammates will be back at Wembley Stadium again soon.
"A football career is a short one and you just hope that you can have another shot at an occasion like this," he added.
"We've been privileged to play in an FA Cup Final and there are probably better players out there who have never had this chance. We've enjoyed the occasion and when you've had a taste of it, it leaves you wanting more."
Hull's match against Arsenal was the club's first appearance in a major final.
