Curtis Davies: 'Hull City must not be complacent in Europa League'

Curtis Davies insists that Hull City can't afford to be complacent in the early stages of their Europa League campaign.

Curtis Davies has urged his Hull City teammates not to become complacent ahead of their first ever European campaign.

It was revealed on Friday that Hull would face either Slovakian outfit FKAS Trencin or Serbian side FK Vojvodina in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. Davies believes that Steve Bruce's side will be in for a tough test despite conceding that he knows very little about both teams.

"I can't say any of the lads knew much about them but if you're in a European competition you must have done well in your own country, either by virtue of a league finish or a cup win," the defender told reporters. "They must have done something right so we need to go there and take it seriously.

"I'd have thought they know who we are, simply because everyone in the world watches the Premier League, whereas I can't say too many of the lads will have watched the Slovakian League.

"I guess they might have watched the Cup final as well. I'm sure they'll know a bit more about us than we might expect."

Hull will travel away from home for the first leg on July 31.
