Half-Time Report: Keith Southern, Danny Ward hand Huddersfield Town control

Huddersfield Town hold a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time in their Championship clash against Barnsley at John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield Town are in control of their Championship clash with Barnsley at the break, thanks to goals from Keith Southern and Danny Ward.

The Terriers had a great chance to take the lead when Ward found himself through on goal and his shot beat Luke Steele, but Peter Ramage was on hand to clear the ball off the line.

Barnsley responded and had good opportunity of their own. Nick Proschwitz was played in behind the Huddersfield defence by Jack Hunt, but his effort at goal was well saved by Alex Smithies.

Mark Robins's side took the lead in the 28th minute when Nahki Wells got behind the Barnsley defence and crossed into the area for Southern, who tapped the ball home from close range.

Huddersfield doubled their advantage minutes later with Wells again the provider. He crossed into the area again and this time Ward was on hand to convert the chance.
