Kilmarnock and Hibernian cannot be separated as they draw 1-1 in their SPL encounter this afternoon.

Hibernian have missed their chance to move into the top three of the SPL after being held by Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Paul Heffernan gave the hosts the lead after just six minutes when he lobbed Ben Williams after the Hibs keeper had saved Borja Perez's free kick.

Heffernan almost doubled his personal tally soon after when he latched on to a James Dayton cross, only to head his effort just wide.

The visitors equalised in the 26th minute when Eoin Doyle reacted quickest to Leigh Griffiths's rebounded effort to poke home.

Doyle could have grabbed a second of the day shortly before half time, but Cameron Bell was on hand to deny the striker after a good team move from the visitors.

Hibs came even closer to taking the lead just two minutes after the restart when Paul Cairney lifted the ball over Bell, only for James Fowler to get back in time to clear it off the line.

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages as they were forced to settle for a point apiece.
