Hearts winger Jamie Walker to serve two-game diving ban after unsuccessful appeal

Hearts winger Jamie Walker will serve a two-game diving ban after the club failed in their appeal to have the SFA's decision overturned.

Hearts have failed in their attempt to overturn the Scottish Football Association's decision to hand Jamie Walker a two-match ban.

The Scotland Under-21 winger was cited by SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan for an 'act of simulation' during his side's 2-1 home defeat to Celtic last Sunday.

Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson insisted that contact had been made between the pair and announced his club's intention to contest the decision on Wednesday.

However, the appeal was dismissed at a hearing at the SFA's Hampden headquarters on Thursday afternoon and Walker will now sit out the club's next two matches against Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Following the game, Celtic skipper Scott Brown branded the 23-year-old a cheat and said that he should be competing at the Rio Olympics.
