Hannover edge past Freiburg

Hannover stretch their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to five matches as they end their season with a 3-2 win over Freiburg.

Hannover have stretched their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to five matches as they ended their season with a thrilling 3-2 win over Freiburg this afternoon.

Szabolcs Huszti opened the scoring on the stroke of half time when his curling free kick beat Alexander Schwolow and found the top corner.

The visitors levelled the scores five minutes after the break when Jonathan Schmid was picked out by Vladimir Darida before placing a low strike into the bottom corner.

Artjoms Rudnevs put the hosts back into the lead in the 64th minute with a low shot from the edge of the box that found the bottom corner.

Freiburg then equalised for the second time in the 78th minute when Philipp Zulechner slotted in Darida's cross after stealing in at the front post.

Hannover soon retook the lead, as within two minutes Edgar Prib was played into the box by Rudnevs, before firing past the keeper.

Freiburg pressed for a late goal, but the home side held on to finish the season in 10th place.
