Gillingham chairman vows to fight ruling

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally says that he is "hurt" after an employment tribunal ruled that Mark McCammon was racially victimised by the club.

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has vowed to appeal after it was ruled that his club's sacking of Mark McCammon was a case of racial victimisation.

An employment tribunal sided with the 33-year-old Barbados international, who had claimed that he had been fined for not turning up in heavy snow while the club's white players were exempt.

Scally told The Mirror: "People can see for themselves in our statement that we are staggered by the ruling and we will fight it.

"I feel hurt for the club and hurt for the fans. There is no way we would do something like that."

McCammon made 52 league appearances for the Gills between July 2008 and May 2011.
