Pablo Franco has left his position as head coach of Getafe.
The 34-year-old took control of matters in February and led El Geta to a 15th-place finish in Spain's top flight.
However, it is understood that the powers-that-be are keen for an experienced coach to lead the team next season, with an official statement revealing that Franco has left his role at the Madrid-based side.
Franco won three of his first six games in charge, but the capital outfit lost six of their last eight in the league and were thumped 7-3 at Real Madrid on the final weekend of the season.
Former Real Madrid coach Fernando Hierro has been linked with the role.
