Fran Escriba appointed Getafe manager

Former Elche manager Fran Escriba signs a three-year deal to take over as the head coach of La Liga club Getafe.

Getafe have confirmed the appointment of Fran Escriba as their new manager.

The 50-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the La Liga club, having resigned from his position as head coach of Elche earlier this week.

He had guided Elche to a 13th-place finish in the league last season, but they were relegated due to unpaid debts to the tax authorities.

Escriba previously worked at Getafe as an assistant manager to Quique Flores.
