Germany midfielder Marco Reus has said that his 'dream has been shattered' having been ruled out of the World Cup through injury.
The 25-year-old suffered ankle ligament damage during his side's comfortable victory against Armenia on Friday night.
"I really don't know how I'm meant to find the words to express what I'm feeling right now," Reus told club side Borussia Dortmund's official website.
"A dream's been shattered, but I've got to look forward and go into my rehabilitation as professionally as I can, because things have to go on.
"I'll come back even stronger than I was. My best wishes now go to the team. I hope they reach our goal without me."
Sampdoria defender Shkodran Mustafi has been called up to the Germany squad in place of Reus.
