Joachim Low admits that Germany made "too many mistakes" despite beating Austria 2-1 this evening.

Germany manager Joachim Low has said that his side should have had a more comfortable lead instead of just hanging on for a 2-1 win against Austria earlier this evening.

Low admitted that Germany, who squandered a number of chances to take a 3-0 lead, committed too many mistakes despite claiming the three points.

"We had the chances to make it 3-0, which we should have done," he told ARD Television.

"They showed a lot of energy but they tired after an hour or 70 minutes and we should have got the third goal and that would have been that. Instead, we let them come at us and committed too many mistakes."

Germany currently top Group C with two wins from two.
