Wesley Sneijder wants Galatasaray stay

Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder insists that he wants to remain at Galatasaray amid talk of interest from the Chinese Super League.

Wesley Sneijder has played down suggestions that he will seek a move from Galatasaray at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, with a number of clubs said to be preparing lucrative contract offers for the Netherlands international.

Sneijder, however, has insisted that he is "happy in Turkey" and will not depart despite Gala's one-year ban from UEFA tournaments for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

"I am happy in Turkey and I won't leave. I am sad about the UEFA ban, but we are waiting for the decision and I will fight for my team. I have never talked with any Chinese club," Sneijder told AA.

Sneijder has scored six times in 33 appearances for his Turkish club this season.
