Galatasaray 'appoint Roberto Mancini as new manager'

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini will take over at Turkish club Galatasaray, according to a report.

Galatasaray have reportedly appointed Roberto Mancini as their new manager.

TurkishFootball.com claims that the former Manchester City boss has signed a three-year contract worth €5.5m (£4.6m) per season plus bonuses, which could see his total salary rise to more than €6m (£5m).

The Turkish giants sacked their previous manager Fatih Terim earlier this week.

Terim parted company with Galatasaray following a bust-up with club president Unal Aysal following a disappointing start to the current campaign.

Mancini has been out of work since City dismissed him in the wake of their FA Cup final defeat to Wigan Athletic back in May.

The Turkish champions confirmed that Mancini is in Istanbul tonight by posting a picture of the Italian holding talks with chief executive Lutfi Arıbogan.
