Fulham are reportedly set to resist any approach from Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab for Brazilian winger Willian.

Fulham are reportedly set to rebuff any approach for Willian from Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab.

The winger looked set to depart Craven Cottage earlier this summer when his one-year deal expired at the end of June.

Willian was close to joining fellow Premier League club Nottingham Forest after undergoing a medical with Steve Cooper's side.

However, the Brazilian decided to remain in West London following positive discussions with Fulham head coach Marco Silva.

Willian put pen to paper on a one-year contract with an option for Fulham to extend his stay by an additional 12 months.

Despite appearing to commit his future to the Cottagers, the 34-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Willian has reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Shabab, who are prepared to double the player's current salary.

The former Chelsea man has allegedly informed Silva of his desire to leave the club and complete a move to the Saudi Pro League.

While Willian may be open to completing a move to Saudi Arabia, the Evening Standard are reporting that Fulham will resist Al Shabab's attempts to sign the winger.

Willian, who joined Fulham on a free transfer last summer, played a key role for Silva's side last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 30 appearances.

Fulham have already rejected two bids this summer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for their star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbia international is understood to be keen to join Al-Hilal, but he will supposedly look to secure an alternative move in Europe if he is unable to join the Saudi Pro League side.

The Cottagers will kick off the new season next weekend when they make the trip to Goodison Park for an opening-day fixture with Everton.
