Rene Meulensteen: 'Fulham will learn from Everton loss'

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen says that his team will learn the importance of taking chances as a result of losing 4-1 to Everton today.

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has claimed that his side will learn from the mistakes that led to their 4-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park today.

Four different goalscorers contributed to the rout of the Cottagers, with Leon Osman opening the scoring, before Seamus Coleman, Gareth Barry and Kevin Mirallas struck in the final 17 minutes to put gloss on the scoreline.

Dimitar Berbatov had briefly levelled from the spot following a series of missed opportunities by the visitors, but Meulensteen insists that his team will learn the value of taking chances as result of the loss.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the Dutchman said: "The first half we just didn't get going but we had some words at half time and I thought we were brilliant for twenty five minutes after the break.

"We were positive, we pressed them. A couple of our lads had chances and we improved. I think Everton are bursting with confidence after recent results and they took their chances.

"We can do better and we will learn from this. We will certainly continue to work hard."

Meulensteen's men remain 19th in England's top flight, one point adrift of 17th-placed West Ham United.
