Olivier Giroud: 'France have a good chance at World Cup'

Olivier Giroud believes that France have a "good chance" of World Cup glory in Brazil.

France forward Olivier Giroud believes that he and his teammates have a "good chance" of World Cup glory this year in Brazil.

The national side had a disastrous campaign at the 2010 South Africa tournament after finishing bottom of the group, and having numerous players boycott training after Nicolas Anelka was sent home for verbally abusing former coach Raymond Domenech.

However, Arsenal's Giroud believes that the players must remain positive under manager Didier Deschamps when they head into the tournament, which gets underway next week on June 12.

"I am looking forward to the World Cup a lot," Giroud told Arsenal Player. "It will be amazing in Brazil and a really good opportunity for France to bounce back.

"We had a big disappointment at the last one but it is part of the past. Now we have a really good squad so we have a good chance."

Despite Giroud's positive attitude, the team have been dealt a blow after Franck Ribery and Clement Grenier were ruled out of the campaign due to fitness issues.
