Crystal Palace record a 2-1 win over Exeter City to book their place in the League Cup second round.

Crystal Palace have progressed into the next round of the League Cup by beating Exeter City 2-1 this evening.

The hosts got off to a flying start, taking the lead early on courtesy of a John O'Flynn header.

Palace were soon level, however, as Arron Davies was adjudged to have handled in the box, allowing Jermaine Easter to convert from the spot.

The Championship club took the lead just before half-time when South African midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi beat the keeper with a scrappy effort.

Neither side could add to their tally in the second half as Palace safely secured their place in the next round.
