Everton midfielder James McCarthy has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Crystal Palace.
At the start of the year, McCarthy suffered a badly broken leg during the Premier League fixture with West Bromwich Albion and there were fears that the Republic of Ireland international could be sidelined throughout 2018.
However, as it stands, McCarthy is on course to take part in pre-season training, leading to the possibility of a move from Goodison Park before the second week in August.
According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace hold an interest in the 27-year-old and may be prepared to tempt the Toffees into a sale at a time when the Merseyside club are expected to make changes to their squad.
McCarthy still has just over two years remaining on his contract, but Everton may be open to offers due to the player featuring just 19 times across the course of two seasons.
