Everton are reportedly planning to swoop for former Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg.
The Blues are hoping to secure the services of the Swedish veteran after contract talks with his current club Olympiacos broke down.
Mellberg scored twice against England and was named as man of the match in his country's 3-2 Euro 2012 defeat to the Three Lions.
The Mirror claims that the 34-year-old is seeking a return to the Premier League, where he spent seven years with Villa.
