Roberto Martinez hoping to strengthen attack

Everton manager Roberto Martinez reveals that he is hoping to make three attacking additions before the end of the transfer window.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has indicated that he will spend the remainder of the summer trying to increase his attacking options at the club.

The Toffees have already signed midfielder Gareth Barry on a permanent deal, and with the club competing in Europe next season, Martinez is keen to add plenty of depth in the final third.

The 41-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: "We want to bring in three attacking players. We feel that we are fine in terms of goalkeeper and defence, but we definitely want one midfielder and three attackers."

"You have to plan for the summer well in advance, and we are very happy with the work that we have put in since January in preparing for this summer.

"We've worked hard to identify the type of players that we want, and we are confident that we will be in a good position to strengthen our squad before the end of this window."

Martinez has been linked with another move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who netted 16 goals in 33 appearances for the Merseyside outfit last season.
