Everton will reportedly face competition for the signature of Reto Ziegler from Portuguese club Benfica this summer.
The Swiss defender is believed to be a transfer target of Everton boss David Moyes, who is keen to secure a replacement for Leighton Baines, should the England international join Manchester United.
Ziegler's current club, Italian champions Juventus, have fuelled speculation further by revealing that they would consider offers for the former Tottenham Hotspur full-back.
However, that news has alerted Benfica, who require defensive recruits before the start of the new season, according to O Jogo.
It has been claimed that Ziegler would cost around £2m.
