Manchester United will reportedly submit a £10m offer for Everton defender Leighton Baines.

Manchester United are reportedly readying a £10m bid for Everton defender Leighton Baines.

The Red Devils are expected to submit that offer before they leave for their pre-season tour of South Africa, the Far East and Scandinavia next week.

However, Everton are eager to keep hold of the their left-back and will not settle for anything less than £15m, according to The Times.

Nevertheless, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be confident of landing the England international, who has three years remaining on his contract at Goodison Park.

Baines joined the Toffees in 2007 from Wigan Athletic.
