Everton reportedly near a deal to sign Algeria international Ramy Bensebaini from Rennes.

Everton are close to reaching a deal to sign versatile Rennes defender Ramy Bensebaini, a report suggests.

According to the Daily Star, the Blues are ready to hand over £13.3m for the Algeria international.

Bensebaini, who is expected to leave Rennes this summer, can play at either left-back or in a holding midfield role.

The report goes on to say that Everton face competition for the 23-year-old's services from German outfit Stuttgart.

Bensebaini is under contract with Rennes until 2020.
