Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is expected to sign a new five-year deal at Goodison Park.
The England Under-21 international is able to sign a longer contract now that he has turned 18-years-old, according to the Liverpool Echo.
His first professional deal with the Merseyside club, signed after his 17th birthday, was only for two-and-a-half-years.
The Blues hope that the new terms will deter interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
