Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that his side's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday can act as a catalyst for the rest of the season.
Romelu Lukaku's second-minute goal was enough for the visitors to end a six-game winless run and Martinez was quick to hail the result after the final whistle.
He told BBC Sport: "It's a terrific feeling. When you come to Selhurst Park you need to be at your very best to keep a clean sheet.
"The performance was just what was needed. It's a great feeling for the players. I hope that today can be a real kick-start in our season. We created the best chances of the game. I thought we defended extremely well, it wasn't a fortunate win.
"I thought Romelu [Lukaku] was quite infectious in the way he worked hard for the team. He gave everything."
The win leaves Everton 12th in the Premier League table.
