Roberto Martinez hails ruthless Everton after QPR win

Roberto Martinez hails his Everton side's ruthless streak after their 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez hailed his side's ruthless finishing as they recorded a 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers this evening.

Goals from Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith rendered Bobby Zamora's late strike at Goodison Park a consolation, and Martinez was delighted with his team's performance in front of goal.

"I'm really pleased because we saw a QPR performance full of energy and organisation so it was important to take the chances," he told Sky Sports News. "And I thought the difference today was how clinical we could be in front of goal.

"I was really pleased with the threat that we carried. The first goal [from Barkley] was as good as you're going to get in individual quality and from that I always thought we had a good balance.

"Overall, we were clinical in front goal. It was quality."

Everton continue their Premier League campaign when they travel to Southampton on Saturday.
