Roberto Martinez worried over 'really bad' Kevin Mirallas injury

Roberto Martinez admits that he is fearing the worst after Everton's Kevin Mirallas was a late casualty in the 3-1 win over QPR.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that Kevin Mirallas's "real bad ankle" injury marred tonight's 3-1 win at home to Queens Park Rangers.

The Belgian had added a second goal after Ross Barkley fired the Toffees ahead at Goodison Park, while Steven Naismith struck a third in the second half, before Bobby Zamora netted a late consolation.

However, the night turned sour when Mirallas was stretchered off in the dying stages after a rash challenge from Jordan Mutch, with Martinez admitting that he is pessimistic over the prognosis.

"Kevin is a real negative today, he's got a real bad ankle," the Spaniard is quoted as saying by TalkSport.

"We're going to scan it in the morning and see the extent of the injury. It was a real disappointment to see him carried off at the end."

The 27-year-old has already spent much of the season on the sidelines after a hamstring injury ruled him out for two months.
