Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Leighton Baines will visit a specialist in a bid to solve his ongoing ankle problem.
The left-back has undergone two operations in the last year to try to correct the complaint.
He featured as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday, but Martinez has revealed that the England international is still playing through the pain barrier.
"Leighton has a little niggle in his ankle and we have to get that right," he told reporters.
"Since the surgery, he's had a little soreness and managing that pain has been difficult. He had to play through the pain against Aston Villa and we have to solve that problem.
"He will see a specialist, but it won't stop him from training. We need to make sure that final step is well treated. He is available for the weekend."
Baines has been restricted to just 12 appearances in all competitions this term.
