David Moyes has issued an apology to Everton supporters for their 2-1 FA Cup semi-final loss to Merseyside rivals Liverpool earlier today.
The Toffees held the lead at the break courtesy of a strike from Nikica Jelavic.
However, Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll struck after the restart to put the Reds into May's final.
"I'm really disappointed not to get through. We started the game well and thought we had weathered them in second half but you can't hide the fact we gave away two terrible goals," he told ESPN.
"We'd done well in the game and we were coping. If you make mistakes it doesn't win you trophies. I'm really sorry and disappointed for the fans."
Everton last reached the final in 2009.
