Jack Wilshere: 'England can win World Cup'

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere insists that England could prove a surprise package at this summer's World Cup finals.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has declared that England are capable of winning the World Cup.

Roy Hodgson's side are underdogs at this summer's tournament, but the 22-year-old insists that the Three Lions are in it to win it.

"We are going to a tournament and we are not going to say we are happy with the semis. We are going there to win it," he told talkSPORT.

"We want to make the country proud."

England continue their preparations for the World Cup with a friendly against Peru at Wembley on Friday.
