Fabio Capello has said that he will leave Wayne Rooney out of England's November friendly against Spain at Wembley Stadium, according to The Mirror.
The striker's red card in England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro last Friday means that he will miss at least one match in next year's finals, but he is still eligible for friendlies.
Despite his availability, Capello has said that he will try new players against the world champions.
"Rooney will not play against Spain," said the Italian.
"That is absolutely the case. I want to test new players, a new style and a new, different movement, something different."
Rooney's ban could be increased by UEFA's disciplinary commission, pending a further investigation.
