Fabio Capello says that centre-back Phil Jones was "born" to play for England.

England boss Fabio Capello has said that Manchester United's Phil Jones was "born" to play for the national side.

The 19-year-old made his full international debut for the Three Lions on Friday in Montenegro, where he drew praise from the England boss for his performance in their 2-2 draw.

"Phil Jones is born to this," he said. "I think this absolutely. He is like Jack Wilshere. Talent is talent. You can't create talent, you are born with it.

"You can improve on what you have been given, but for me the No.2, Phil Jones, is a very good player now.

"The news in Montenegro should not have been about Wayne Rooney being sent off, it should have been about a really good young player who performed really well on his debut."

Jones joined Manchester United from Blackburn this summer for a fee of £16m.
