Report: England boss Roy Hodgson considering Danny Ings call-up

England boss Roy Hodgson is weighing up Burnley striker Danny Ings as a potential addition to his next squad, according to a report.

England manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly considering calling up Burnley striker Danny Ings to his next squad.

The 22-year-old has caught the eye this season after scoring eight Premier League goals in 21 games for the struggling Clarets.

England's next fixture is a European Championship qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley on March 27, before a friendly against Italy four days later.

Hodgson, who is expected to call up Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, is also interested in picking Ings.

The Three Lions boss will watch Ings in person over the coming weeks to see if he can make the step up to international level, according to the Daily Star.

It is thought that Hodgson is considering selecting Ings for the game in Turin and not the qualifying match.

Ings has scored four goals in seven appearances for the England Under-21s.
