Paul Ince thinks that Serbia should face a lengthy ban for the racist abuse suffered by England players in violent scenes at the end of Tuesday's Under-21 qualifier.

Former England international Paul Ince has called for Serbia to be banned from international competition after Tuesday's Under-21 qualifier was marred by violent scenes.

England's achievement of qualifying for next summer's European Championships in Israel was overshadowed as Stuart Pearce's team suffered racist abuse at the hands of a volatile Serbian crowd.

Conor Wickham's winning goal deep into injury time sparked violent clashes between the two sides which resulted in Danny Rose receiving a red card for reacting to abuse from the stands.

Thomas Ince was among the players involved in the late bust-up, and his father Paul told ESPN that Serbia should face a lengthy suspension for their behaviour.

He said: "If it was me [Serbia] would be kicked out for the next five tournaments.

"It is absolutely disgraceful to see these scenes, something needs to be done."

Pearce confirmed after the match that the Football Association has reported a number of incidents to UEFA.
