Roy Hodgson: 'England must emulate Germany'

England boss Roy Hodgson believes that his side should learn lessons from Germany if they want success in international football.

Roy Hodgson has expressed his belief that England must learn from Germany if they want to be successful at international level.

Hodgson's side exited the World Cup during the summer in the group stages, while the Germans went on to win their fourth title in Brazil.

The Three Lions manager has said that he would like his side to emulate Joachim Low's men, because he believes that they play a similar style to many European teams.

"I think the first thing you've got to do is make certain that you've got to emulate their pace, mobility and athleticism because there's no doubt that's the way the game is going," Hodgson told FIFA.com.

"When you watch a German team doing things extremely well, there's nothing that should stop us, and other western European teams to say, 'We can work in that way too'.

"We can produce the players who are similar to theirs. The question is whether we can produce players as good, and a team that's as good. That's another matter altogether."

England will face Germany in a friendly in March 2016.
