England will not train at St George's Park before Denmark match

England will not use St George's Park to prepare for the Denmark match because of travel issues, a spokesman says.

England will not use St George's Park for their preparations for the friendly match with Denmark at Wembley on March 5, a spokesman has confirmed.

The training centre in Burton, which cost around £105m to build, will not host the Three Lions because officials say that they do not want to waste time travelling.

"Due to the short time frame for this meet up, we decided that we should focus on preparing for Denmark and looking ahead, with the squad, to our plans for Brazil and that our travel time should be kept to a minimum," the spokesman is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

Roy Hodgson's squad also used different venues for training before the World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Montenegro last year, although that was because of food poisoning at the hotel at St George's Park.
