England's Michael Carrick looking forward to Brazil game

Michael Carrick is looking forward to England's game against Brazil and hopes that the experience of playing at the Maracana will help ahead of the World Cup next year.

Michael Carrick has admitted that he is looking forward to taking on Brazil when England play at the Maracana on Sunday evening.

The Three Lions will play the first match in Rio de Janeiro's famous stadium since it was redeveloped ahead of next year's World Cup finals.

The Manchester United midfielder hopes that it will give England a taste of playing in Brazil, but insists that they are not looking past their qualifying games.

"When I was growing up, Brazil was always one of the best teams," Carrick said. "They have had some unbelievable players, and to play in that stadium. It's a special, special game.

"We know some of their players from those that play around Europe but what no one has got is the experience of playing over here.

"We don't want to look too far ahead. We have got a big job to do, however, it gives us a taste, gives us experience and it will help if we do get through to the World Cup."

England face Brazil at 8pm on Sunday evening.
