Joe Hart admits that he cannot wait to represent England at his first major tournament.

Joe Hart has admitted that he cannot wait to feature in his first major tournament for England this summer.

Despite being named in the Three Lions squad for the 2010 World Cup, Manchester City goalkeeper Hart was not called upon during the tournament.

However, this time around Hart is regarded as England's number one goalkeeper and the 25-year-old has confessed that he is looking to thrive on the responsibility placed upon his shoulders.

"South Africa was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I just wish we had done better as a team," said Hart. "We had a really good squad out there and it was unfortunate we couldn't do as well as we wanted to.

"For me, it's a totally different mindset this time to two years ago. There's an awful lot more expected of me this time with playing all the qualifying games and things like that.

"I like that responsibility and hopefully I'll bring something positive to the team."

England begin their Euro 2012 campaign against France a week today.
