Fidel Chaves: 'Squad unity will help us'

Elche midfielder Fidel Chaves admits that "there's 15 finals" to go in La Liga this season.

Elche midfielder Fidel Chaves believes that the "unity" in the squad will help the Spanish side starve off the threat of relegation this season.

As it stands, the newly-promoted outfit sit in 12th position in the table, but they are just four points from the relegation zone as the battle at the bottom continues to gather pace.

"Our position in La Liga is misleading and that shows that we're amongst many teams that are fighting for the same objective," he told reporters at a press conference.

"There's 15 'finals' to go and we have to go into each one of them without giving up anything. A great part of our success last season was unity in the squad and this year, we'll achieve our objective by staying united."

Elche are one of four teams that have taken 25 points from their 23 matches.
