Eintracht Frankfurt confirm Vaclev Kadlec deal

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Armin Veh shares his relief after signing Czech striker Vaclav Kadlec on a four-year contract.

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Armin Veh has expressed his relief after confirming the signing of Czech striker Vaclev Kadlec for an undisclosed fee.

Kadlec has put pen to paper a four-year contract at Frankfurt, leaving Sparta Prague despite signing a long-term deal earlier this summer.

Veh had conceded that the 21-year-old has taken a huge chunk out of Frankfurt's limited resources, but believes that his talent and versatility are worth the outlay after weeks of negotiations.

He told the club's official website: "I am glad that it worked out. I must say that the player has cost a lot of money by our standards, but you should be careful with the expectations anyway.

"He is still young and should develop over several years here. We found early on that we have two central strikers. However, we needed someone who can play multiple positions. Vaclav can do that."

Kadlec scored 14 goals in the Czech top flight last season and joins a side who finished sixth in the Bundesliga in 2012-13.
