Doncaster's Billy Sharp suffers family tragedy

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp will miss tonight's match against Middlesbrough following the death of his two-day-old son.

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp is unlikely to play in his side's home match against Middlesbrough this evening following the death of his two-day-old son.

A minute's applause will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium for Louie Jacob Sharp, who died on Saturday.

Sharp will have a message announced to the fans before kickoff which reads: "This is a minute's applause to celebrate the short life of Billy and Jade's son Louie Jacob Sharp.

"Born 27th October. Taken by the angels on the 29th.

"Sleep tight son."

The centre-forward missed Doncaster's 1-1 draw with Coventry City for what was described at the time as an unspecified "family issue".
