Ipswich Town have yet to offer an acceptable bid for Derby County's Steve Davies, according to Rams' chief executive Tom Glick.
Davies is reportedly keen to link up with former manager Paul Jewell and although he is a key player for Derby, they would prefer to receive a fee rather than see him leave for nothing.
"It is hard to say what will happen with Steven right now," Glick told the East Anglian Daily Times. "Until a situation arises or deal that makes sense, then Steven is a player for Derby County.
"Will he still be here at the start of the season? I don't know.
"We are looking for a fee, no question, and an appropriate fee.
Davies signed for Derby in 2008.
