Derby County manager Nigel Clough has revealed that he wants to keep John Brayford at the club.
Wigan Athletic have reportedly made a £1m offer for the 25-year-old defender, who has one year remaining on his contract at Pride Park.
"If an offer came in that did meet our valuation, it would then be up to John," Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"He's got 12 months to go, he's been brilliant for us and he's entitled to go and have a look around and see what`s on offer. But we think he will end up staying - we hope he will - and we're not under any pressure to accept a bid.
"What we can't afford to do with players is let them go for nothing in 12 months' time."
Brayford joined Derby from Crewe Alexandra in 2010.
