Will Hughes starts in the Derby midfield after overcoming an ankle injury, while on-loan West Bromwich Albion man George Thorne takes up a place on the bench.

Reading: McCarthy; Gunter, Obita, Gorkss, Pearce; Akpan, Guthrie, McCleary, McAnuff, Drenthe, Robson-Kanu
