Derby County winning streak continues at Charlton Athletic

Derby County record maximum points for a sixth consecutive match as the Rams win 2-0 at Charlton Athletic courtesy of goals from Jamie Ward and Craig Bryson.

Derby County recorded maximum points for a sixth consecutive match on Saturday.

The Rams beat Charlton Athletic 2-0 at The Valley thanks to goals from Jamie Ward and Craig Bryson.

Steve McClaren's men are now just three points behind Burnley, who occupy the final automatic promotion place in the Championship table.

Ward found the net to register his sixth goal of the season with a defected free kick from 25 yards on 32 minutes.

The Northern Ireland international came close to doubling his tally midway through the second half, as he rattled the crossbar from 12 yards.

Michael Morrison then missed a glorious chance to bring Charlton level, before Bryson sealed the win for the visitors following good work from substitute Conor Sammon.
