The Togolese forward, who has played for Arsenal and Manchester City during his career, had been linked with a switch to Selhurst Park in the last few weeks.
The Eagles, who have not found the back of the net in their last six Premier League games, have recruited Adebayor with the hope of the experienced striker providing some additional firepower.
In four years at Tottenham, the striker scored 41 goals in 106 appearances.
